Shadow Warrior

Inspired by the translucent and airy beauty of shadow puppet, I designed a golden armour for a female warrior in Chinese opera using light-weighted cow leather twined into a three-dimensional structure by hand to maximize freedom of movement, comfort and durability. Moreover, the airy but strong quality of the material help Moisture was applied to keep the leather supple for modelling intricate yet graceful designs, for both the garment on the body and the symbolic headdress. Different shades of gold were applied with Chinese brush strokes to create a contrasting yin-yang effect to maximize the visual interest, while the overall appearance is one of power and majesty befitting warriors, and the essence of a heroine ? one with stamina, swiftness and grace. More than just an elegant wearable, it is a symbol of pride and honour.
